Leaning into China

I can't believe in a couple of days I will have already been here a month, in China, on the other side of the planet, a million miles away from home and everything I know. While that has always been my intention (to be slightly insane and do the most outlandish thing I can think of by moving to the literal opposite side of the world), within these four short weeks, there have been many, many, many moments of fear, hesitation and even doubt. But, with every second of fear, comes a breath of encouragement and pure excitement that follows suit.

Breathe...

With every challenge that has been presented to me, I may have had a moment of fear and hesitation, but quickly I have adapted to replace that with seeing it as an exciting challenge. For instance, I got lost on my way home on my first evening returning from work, and of course, my phone was dead. So, I panicked for a split second, thinking, "Oh god, your second night here and already lost! I am going to get stolen and sold on the street as street meat" Then, shrugged it off and ended up walking around and exploring my neighborhood for over an hour. And you know what? Before I knew it, I ended up on my street without even consciously looking for it!

Lean in...

With every challenge comes a reward. Rather than resisting, I find it easier and more exciting to lean in to the forces and let the universe work its magic. After all, who knows where this wild, wild adventure can take me. I can only follow where the wind calls my name...
