Miriam Castillo

Miriam has been exploring yoga for the past 8 years. She ventured to north India in 2012 to accomplish her first 200 hr teacher training in Rishikesh Yog Peeth, where her journey as a teacher began. Later in 2014 she continued her education in Bali Indonesia at Zuna Yoga 300 hr teacher training under the Tantric tradition.
She is passionate about inspiring yoga thru practice and art. She believes that practice it's about finding what serves you in the moment to develop creativity in life to empower the body, mind and spirit, aligning them with your highest intentions. Currently teaching at class at Jain Yoga Arts in Brooklyn, her class is an ashtanga based sequence. Oihana Camblong

Oihana began her journey using Yoga as a physical practice until she discovered the deep philosophy behind it. The spirituality of Yoga inspired her to look for serenity and real meaning and purpose in life. Oihana received her 200-hour certification at Jai Yoga Arts. In the path of endlessly learning and exploring, she likes to spread the words of ancient wisdom that profoundly resonated in her and helped her to have new perspectives. She hopes to bring a new awareness of the body and mind, a break of calm and softness, to busy New Yorkers' lives with a class based around flowing peacefully while having an active Vinyasa practice.

Hara Zi

Hara Zi is a dancer, actress, registered yoga teacher, and strong chess player born in sunny Athens, Greece and currently based in New York City. She began studying Chemical Engineering but soon was captivated by dance. She graduated from the Professional Dance School “Anna Petrova” in Athens. In 2010 she was awarded the Alexander Onassis Public Benefit Foundation Scholarship and came to New York to pursue her studies at the José Limón Institute. In 2011 she continued her dance training and movement research in New York as a scholar of Attica Tradition Educational Foundation. Some of her favorite credits include BAM Fischer, TED Platform in Connecticut and TED Athens, Dancespace Project at St Mark’s Church, Figment NYC. She is a member of Rod Rodgers Dance Company, Dancers Unlimited, and proud member of INTAR Unit 52 Ensemble. She loves yoga, theatre and contemporary dance, but also exploring and training in different dance styles, improvising and creating movement, thinking of the body as an organic instrument with no limits, just expansions.

Yoga and dance are part of her life, not only when she is in a studio or on stage, but when she walks barefoot on the beach, when she swims and feels the water run through her skin, when she interacts with people, when she seeks grounding and inspiration.

Francesca Marini

Francesca Marini is devoted to exploring and sharing the path of magical wellness through the study of movement, plants, breath and energy. She found yoga at age sixteen after undergoing spine surgery and quickly became intrigued by the physical benefits as well as the mind-body connection she never knew was missing from her life. She completed her 200-hour training at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Ranch in 2012, apprenticed with Ella Luckett in 2012, and completed her 85-hour prenatal yoga teacher training with Deb Flashenberg at Prenatal Yoga Center in 2016. She hopes to guide students to find deeper connection and balance within themselves by sharing a yoga practice designed to nourish the nervous system and tone the body. Francesca has a master’s degree in Int. Health Studies with certification in Guided Imagery and Wellness Coaching, and is also a certified Labor and Postpartum Doula.

Sarah Lowndes

Sarah discovered the peace of yoga in hectic NYC. She was immediately attracted to the philosophy of yoga, which she felt was in line with her own personal discoveries on life and living. Soon after she started a personal practice, Sarah knew she wanted to become a teacher and earned her 200-hour certification through Jai Yoga Arts' Teacher Training Program in 2012. Sarah's classes are a mix of body awareness and mental presence that open students' hearts and encourage playfulness and joy.

Lillian Stamey

Lillian has always been a lover of movement. Growing up in the Hudson Valley, Lillian began as a competitive gymnast and became a custom to disciplined practice at a very young age. It was the mobility of body, physical strength, and mental challenge that drew her to gymnastics. As she grew older, Lillian turned to the art dance as an outlet to explore freedom of expression in the body and creative self. She now lives in Brooklyn, NY and dances professionally, as well as, creates her own choreographed work with 96b Dance Collective.

Lillian's passion for movement lead her to the yogic path. Upon graduating from the 200 Hour Teacher Training program at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in 2015, Lillian registered with the Yoga Alliance (RYT 200). Yoga is an integral aspect to her creative aspirations and drives her to bring people together through self and wellness practices. Furthermore, Lillian is currently completing her Masters of Arts in Somatic Education and Therapy with University of Lancashire. Somatic movement is essential to her yoga teachings.

Nicole Hudson

Nicole Hudson is certified 200hr RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) and level 1 Reiki Practitioner based in Brooklyn. She began her inward journey in 2010 and was hooked! Born and raised in Maine, she takes every opportunity to connect with and be in nature. She is an avid traveller and has a serious case of wanderlust, always looking towards her next adventure. She hopes that her continued journey will inspire others to follow their hearts and do what they LOVE!

Ella Luckett

Ella opened Jai Yoga Arts in March of 2011 with the intention of offering spiritual, playful and creative space for Bushwick community dwellers. She has been teaching yoga for a decade and is certified in both Ashtanga (2001) and JivaMukti (2004). Her classes are centered around the wisdom of the yoga sutras. Ella delivers yoga's ancient principles in contemporary language for the purpose of freeing one's spirit in everyday life and discovering the One energy that links us all to each other. All her classes include a heat building flow, a variety of postures from simple to challenging, meditation, and final relaxation. Come play, relax and renew!

Gail Rankin

Gail has been practicing yoga for almost 10 years. Yoga very quickly became an essential part of her life when she noticed how well it helped her manage the emotional and body related stress of corporate work life. It helped her to overcome chronic back pain and her classes always keep in mind practitioners with tight necks, shoulders, and backs. She believes that pranayama, asana, and meditation together have the power to rewire your brain chemistry. But also acknowledges that yoga is just, ya know, magical sometimes.
This is an active vinyasa class where the teacher offers varied level options. Best for intermediate to advanced students, beginners welcome to try it out. You will connect breath with movement to unlock the body's tension and relieve stress while building core strength and mindful focus. A healing and energizing experience for "All" levels.
